Manganese

Atomic number: 25

Symbol: Mn

Category: transition metal

Density at 25°C: solid  7.21 g·cm−3

Although important in industrial uses such as stainless steel, it is also essential in trace amounts as part of living organisms in dealing with oxygen. They also form as nodules at the bottom of the ocean taking a very long time to form.
