Do fashion designers use art to express their ideas?

28 July 2004
by Richard Conan-Davies

Fashion designers probably are influenced by particular pieces of art, or perhaps styles of art.

An article online describes what artists, historians and fashion designers have in common.

A classic example of art and fashion can be seen in the work of art ( or painitng) by Gustav Klimt called "the kiss".. It is almost the fashion in the picture that is more detailed than the people embracing in the image.

No doubt there are examples of fashion designers that use this kind of approach in their work.

Check out the range of designers listed on fashion-era.com and see what influenced them.

A famous painting called "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt seems to emphasis fashion expression more than anything else.

Another painting by Klimt " Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I also is great example of fashion inspired painting (or are there fashion designers who have created something like this?)
