News about cyclones

Tropical cyclones are often reported on the news because of their often immediate and present danger to life and property.  Typically news reports cover the essential facts related to cyclones such as their name, location and intensity. They often report on the numbers of people likely to be affected. Due to the nature of cyclones they can often change rapidly and news reports need to keep up to date.

The primary source though of news about cyclones is from Weather Bureaus from around the world.

In Australia the BoM provides the main source of information about cyclones.
