Captured sun particles may have survived

by Richard Conan-Davies

NASA has reported that some of the sun particles collected by the Genesis space probe which crashed to earth after its' 3 year misssion in space may have survived to produce valuable scientific information.

Sean O'Keefe, a NASA Administrator told a NASA press conference that "The outstanding design and sturdy construction of Genesis may yield the important scientific results we hoped for from the mission," he said.

The Genesis probe was mainly designed to catch isotopes of oxygen that are ejected from the sun. This will help sort out a number of competing theories about the formation of the solar system.
