Teleportation of what atoms think

21 June 2004
by Richard Conan-Davies

Scientists and Physcists from the US and Austria have demonstrated that it is possible to teleport the condition states of atoms from one location to another.

If atoms could think this experiment is a bit like transfering the thoughts of one atom to another.

Research presented in the Journal Nature, by David Wineland of the US National Institute of Standards & Technology have shown that it is possible to send the quantum states of atoms from one to another.

The main use for this sort of research is the development of Quantum Computers that may have some incredible computing power for solving amazingly complex problems like codes and scheduling problems for airlines.
