Breast milk for treating warts

24 June 2004
by Richard Conan-Davies

There are plenty of health benefits of breast milk for babies but new research seems to suggest it may also be an effective treatment for skin warts.

The researchers from University of Lund, Sweden headed by Lotta Gustafsson looked at a naturally occuring chemical in breast milk called lactalbumin to treat around 40 people. The people treated with the breast milk chemical reduced the size of warts by 75%.

The researchers also followed up the patients for two years and found that 83% of the people treated were completely cured.
