Today is world-wide science day

15 April 2005
by Richard Conan-Davies

Univeristy science students from around the world will be following and reporting what scientists do during a day.

Science student reporters will be shadowing scientists to find out exactly what they do during the day. Whether they are tagging lizards, heating a test tube or looking into a telescope.

It is a learning experience for the student reporters The Univeristy of New South Wales in Australia, who lead the project,  say that " Participating students learn how to work in teams, hierarchies, and production lines; how to handle concrete deadlines; how to communicate effectively; and how to deliver a professional product for public consumption. In short, they learn the communication and managerial skills needed by professionals."

The day is a project by Science Communication Program (SCOM) of the UNSW.

Watching wallabies is something that could be done on world wide science day.
