NTSC - National Televsion System Committee

A type of video input standard used in North America. It defines how quickly images change on the screen. The NTSC standard is about 30 frames per second and 525 lines per frame.

In comparison UK and Australia use a video standard called PAL, France uses a standard called SECAM.
