Pixel - Picture ELement

A single picture element on a screen of a computer. They are the dots that you can see on a computer screen when you look at it with a magnifying glass.

Pixels on a screen are created by the computer software.

Digital cameras have pixels linked to (that correspond to) the light sensitive part in the camera but this light sensors are not actually pixels.
