RAM - Random Access Memory A type of computer memory that allows data to be stored temporarily. It is called random access memory because the memory can be accessed at any particular time depending on what external input or instructions it gets from the user. This is the part of the meory in a computer that holds most applications or programs when they are running. So the more RAM in computer the more programs you can use at once. having larger amounts of RAM can also allow you to manipulate or change bigger files like digital images or sound files.
