According to various mac rumour (appleinsider.com) sites it could be only a few weeks away before Apple releases itunes store in Australia. This will be coming some 2 years after it was introduced in the US and parts of Europe. The rumours consist of things like Australian musicians ( like Russel Crowe) claiming to be soon selling their songs on itunes store and possibly radio advertising spots booked for Apple.
Itunes store in Australia is likely to be quite popular but there has probably been all sorts of wranglings with distribution rights within the Australian music industry to get even this far. Hopefully it will be coming out soon so we can now at aleast down load single tracks from our favourite albums. But remember that these downloads have Digital Rights Management (DRM) built into them so you may not be able to copy the files you buy onto more than about 5 devices.
