iPod Radio Remote released

12 January 2006
by Richard Conan-Davies

Turn your ipod or ipod nano into a FM radio. That's the latest offering from Apple revealed at the MacWorld Expo earlier in the week.

The Australian Apple store is selling them at $79 with a current shipping time of 2-3 weeks.

At 15.7 grams the device presents the information on the screen of your nano or hard-disk ipod.

It's not revealed so far if the device can automatically search for stations. Hopefully it does.

"The iPod Radio Remote combines two great features in one elegant product," explained Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing.

Includes Radio Data System (RDS) standard that can show the artist and song on some radio stations
