Apple in-ear headphone review

25 June 2006
by Richard Conan-Davies

After purchasing some in ear bud style headphones I tested them by walking along near a little bit of traffic using my ipod nano. I discovered that the in ear style headphones seem to have a slightly tiny sound. It the extra bass did not seem as prominent. In addition I found them a little difficult to put in. Not overly so but enough.

I did notice that they did not stick in firmly enough. Though when I pressed them in and held them down the sound did improve. While walking with them in I noticed that the rubbing noise from the cord was a little more prominent. This makes sense because there is a firmer connection so sound vibrations can be heard more easily.

The different ear-piece cap sizes don't make a great deal of difference, although the smaller size seem to work best for me, and I'm quite a tall. But sometimes you do get a good sound if you push the buds in fairly hard. But for walking the stand type of ear phone might be best.
